Help Your Teen Make the Most of Their Young Years
King Solomon advised young people to enjoy every minute of their lives. Do everything they want to do. Take in everything but they must realize that they will give an account to God for everything they do. (Ecclesiastes 11: 9-10). As parents, you can help your child make the most of their young years by exposing them to God’s truth. When they know God’s truth, they will not waste their lives making unnecessary mistakes. They will be able to identify the lies the world feeds them. Teen programming at Eastern Star Church is designed to expose your child to the truth. Ensuring their participation will supplement what you are already doing at home
As we celebrate the birth of Martin Luther King, Jr this month (Monday, January 17th), we are reminded how young people can affect a nation. Martin Luther King, Jr. was only twenty-six years old when he led the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC) into the Montgomery Bus Boycott. This boycott galvanized a nation to change its unjust segregation laws. Who knows how God wants to use your child to impact the world? You can contribute by helping your child learn how to hear God’s voice, practice godly behavior, and build confidence in allowing God to direct their steps.
Eastern Star’s 2022 church theme is A Spiritual Reset (Acts 1:8, 2:1-4, 42-47). Programming, church wide, will focus on reminding us to get back to the basics of our faith, engaging in practices that help us increasingly know God, reflect God in our character and draw others into a saving relationship with Him. Our Teen Ministry will continue to offer programming virtually and is working to return to in person programming this year. Virtual Teen Church is offered on the 1st & 3rd Sundays on ESC Ignite Teen YouTube channel. We also offer a Teen Talk on Monday nights at 7:30pm via Zoom. Registration is required. Teen Bible study is offered LIVE on esc. ignite Instagram page at 8pm. Ensure your child participates in one or all these opportunities.
Be sure to share the following Teen Church episode with your child. It will encourage them to be wise with their young years.
