Equip Your Teen for Ministry! Get them to Teen Ministry this September.
When we become Christians, we immediately become a part of the family of God. As the family of God, we are His witnesses in the world. Acts 1: 8 says, “You will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem and in all Judea, and Samaria, and as far as the remotest part of the earth.” As witnesses we reflect God’s character in the world, so that unbelievers will see God in us and desire to know Him.
God has equipped every believer with gifts that can be used to help draw unbelievers to Himself as well as help other believers grow in their faith. 1 Corinthians 12: 4 – 11 mentions various spiritual gifts. Other scriptures on spiritual gifts include Romans 12: 3 – 8 and 1 Peter 4:7-11. We pray that you are engaged in using your gift to build up the Kingdom of God and we also pray that you are helping your teen discover their place in the work as well. Feel free to take this assessment to help you and your teen discover what your spiritual gifts are, https://gifts.churchgrowth.org/spiritual-gifts-survey/ .
It is important to equip teens to be representatives for God and communicators of His truth to others. Often, teens are better equipped to minister to other teens because they know the questions they are asking and what challenges they are facing. They can offer God’s truth as a solution. Yet, they must have the knowledge to do it. Teen Ministry is structured so that teens can be equipped to join the mission of God. Through Bible study and other programming, students are challenged to grow in their faith. Read Brian Beck’s, a seventeen-year member of Eastern Star, perspective regarding making sure his teens are involved in programming at Eastern Star Church.
“As a teenager, I had a lot of fun participating in youth church when I was young. We did large outings and traveled together. I sang in the youth choir and attended Summer camp with the church. I learned a lot about the Lord, communication, and family. My wife, Sandra, and I both believe in keeping our children busy in wholesome activities and especially believe that making time for Christian activities should be a priority. We believe that the church helps re-Enforce our values, helps us raise respectful and decent children.”
Teen programming returns Sunday, September 11th with Sunday School on all campuses. Get busy equipping your teen for the work God has called them to by making sure they are involved.
