BIBLE STORY: PEOPLE PRAISE JESUS AS KING

Many people were going to Jerusalem to worship God. Jesus told two disciples, “Go to the next town. Find a donkey and bring it here.” The disciples found the donkey where Jesus said it would be. They told the owners, “The Lord needs it.” The owners let them take it.

The disciples brought the donkey to Jesus. The donkey had no saddle. So the disciples put their coats on its back and helped Jesus get on.

The people along the road praised Jesus as their King. They put their coats on the road, waved branches, and shouted, “Hosanna!”

ACTIVITY: IMAGINE HEAVEN

Draw what you think heaven might look like

Materials: Blank sheets of paper and crayons or colored pencils

Jesus went back home to heaven. The Bible tells us that:

  1. God is in heaven (Exodus 20:22, Deuteronomy 26:15)

  2. God created heaven (Genesis 14:19)

  3. There won’t be any sadness in heaven (Revelations 21:4)

  4. Jesus is preparing a place for us in heaven to be with him (John 14:1-3)

Look back at your drawing. The Bible tells us we cannot imagine what God has prepared for those who love Him (I Corinthians 2:9) Heaven is even better than what you imagined!

LET’S CLOSE TOGETHER IN PRAYER!

“Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.’”
— Matthew 6:9-13 (NIV)
