This year, the COVID-19 pandemic has forced social distancing and changed how we interact with our family and friends.

As Father’s Day approaches, we want to share five ways to show fathers and father figures love and appreciation.

1 Timothy 5:1 reminds us to exhort, respect, and encourage the older men in our lives.

1. Plan or Prepare a Meal

  1. Whether we shop for the food and prepare it ourselves, or order take out from his favorite restaurant.  A great meal is sure to please!

2. Quality Time

Prepare some of his favorite snacks and spend quality time watching a comedy show on Hulu or Netflix.  Light-hearted laughter could help dad forget about life’s stresses for a while.

5. Worship Together

Take time to participate in online worship with dad!  Sharing a relationship with God will build an even stronger bond with the father figure in your life.

“A triple-braided cord is not easily broken.” (Ecclesiastes 4:12)

3. Play a Game

Does he enjoy an outdoor game of basketball?  Or video games?  Either way, quality time like this could make dad feel special.

4. Purchase a Gift Card

Purchase a gift card for dad’s favorite store!  What are dad’s favorite hobbies? If he enjoys home improvements or sporting goods: Lowes, Home Depot, or Dick’s Sporting Goods could be a wonderful solution.

Eastern Star worship services are Sundays at 9:15 a.m., 10:45 a.m. and 12:15 p.m. on Facebook, YouTube and the ESC app.

This Father’s Day, join us in showing honor to the men who raised us and made sacrifices for our family!
